Non-Surgical Treatment

Exercising regularly will increase the use of the calf muscle and this will increase the circulation in the leg. Reducing weight and avoiding prolonged periods while standing still can also decrease the ache in the legs caused by varicose veins.

Wearing support stockings will also have the same effect of increasing the return of blood to the heart and preventing pooling of blood in the legs.

These measure may reduce the symptoms from varicose veins such as aching and itching but will not take away the problem which is the varicose veins itself.
